Great site! We are going down to WDW in October (2nd week)! What are the crowds like at this time of year, and do you recommend the halloween party for kids ages 5 and 2 1/2. Is it worth the extra money and is it too late of an event for these ages?

    Hi Evan,

October is my favorite time of the year to visit the Walt Disney World Resorts! I love that the weather is cooler and that the crowds are lighter.

You will find the weekdays less crowded than the weekends. You may even see some attractions who have FastPass capabilities not even utilizing that option. Epcot will be crowded on the weekend because of the International Food & Wine Festival so visit this park during the week.

I love Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I love seeing the costumes and the candy. The parade is my favorite! However, I would save the money until your children are older. I think they would enjoy it more and you can take full advantage of the party especially riding the bigger attractions with reduced crowds.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
