Hi Melanie,
Thank you for the kinds words! Its an honor for us to assist guests traveling to WDW :-)
I just ate at the
T-Rex Cafe for the first time with my DS5 last month. He loved it!
T-Rex Cafe was created by the same people that's behind the Rain Forest Cafe so it is along the same idea but the themes and food are totally different. The dinosaurs are huge. Many move and make noises too (but not constantly). It was loud but I didn't think it was quite as loud as Rain Forest Cafe. My DS5 got a big kick out of the Meteor Shower that occurred approximately every 10 - 15 minutes.
Their kid's menu featured 11 different items and 2 desserts choices. Their adult menu was pretty big which always makes it difficult for me to choose because I wanted so many things they had to offer. For dessert we shared the Chocolate Extinction - yummy dessert with a cool special effect - this was a big hit with our whole table.
T-Rex has its own gift shop (Dino-Store) including
Build-A-Dino by
Build-A-Bear Workshop. They also have a place where kids can go on a Discovery Dig, pan for treasures in Discovery Creek & learn some "prehistory" on the Paleo Screens.
We enjoyed it and I would definitely go again. Reservations are accept beginning 180 days prior to your visit and can be made by calling 407-828-TREX (407-828-8739) or online by clicking
here.
If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, keep in mind that this location does not participate in the Disney Dining Plan. They did offer a discount to Annual Passholders when I was there so if you have one, be sure to ask when ordering.
Wishing you many magical prehistoric memories :-) Allison
