Great Panel!! I have a party of 13 that will be aboard the Disney Dream in June. We plan on visiting the parks sometime during this vacation. Would it be better to visit the parks before, or after the cruise.

    Hi Kelvin,

I get asked this question a lot - and sometimes I think I am in the minority because I prefer to cruise BEFORE my visit to Walt Disney World.  I see it like this...the cruise is undoubtedly the more expensive portion of the vacation (since it's an all-inclusive atmosphere), so I don't simply see it as a way to "recover" from my Disney Parks vacation.  I want to be refreshed and ready to enjoy and embrace every aspect of the cruise experience.  If I'm wiped out from my park experience, I worry that I'll miss some of the fun that cruising offers.

Secondly, having cruised both before and after a parks vacation - I have found the transition from ship to parks much more efficient than the parks to ship transition.  When you disembark the ship, you're on a bus and on your way to Walt Disney World - realistically you could be checked in to your resort and playing in a park before lunch time.  When traveling from your Disney resort to the port, it is a much longer process and takes up the better part of your day.  You really won't have time to "play" that morning...but the ship doesn't set sail until 5:00 p.m. so you have a lot of hurry up and wait this day.

Either way, combining a Walt Disney World vacation with a Disney Cruise is the ULTIMATE in vacation fun!

    Good luck with your decision!
