Hi Linda, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You sure are in for a wonderful vacation with your great-nephew; he is at a fantastic age to enjoy the magic!
Lactaid may not be on the DVC grocery list for Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, but I bet you’ll be able to find it or an alternative around the resort’s Quick-Service Restaurants. I’ve seen dairy-free milk alternatives like soy and almond milk in various resorts' dairy cases, but I’m not sure if I’ve seen Lactaid. My recommendation is to stop in at Contempo Café in Disney’s Contemporary Resort (located right next to Bay Lake Tower). If you don’t see Lactaid there, ask to speak to a Chef, who can help you locate either Lactaid or an alternative. If you must have Lactaid, I recommend ordering some to your resort using a local
grocery delivery service; this way, you will have peace of mind knowing you’ll have exactly what your little guy needs to be comfortable.
My fellow Moms Panelists and I had the opportunity to meet a Cast Member from the
Special Diets team at Walt Disney World, and I was so impressed with her team’s commitment to help families with dietary restrictions feel good about their dining options so they could focus on what’s most important – making incredible memories! Linda, I encourage you to reach out at least 14 days in advance of your vacation to the Special Diets team via email at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com or phone at (407) 939-3463 to let them know about your Mouseketeer’s needs. They can add a note about the intolerance to your dining reservations and also answer any questions you may have.
Wishing you and your family a magical vacation,
Robyn
