Great forum! How does the ME work at the airport (i.e., how do your bags get separated from others) and do you have to use the ME? I read on here to allow to 2 hours but on my last trip, we hopped in a cab immediately. We're coming 9/28 and can't wait!

    Hi Melissa,

Magical Express is Disney's free transportation between its resorts and Orlando International Airport. It is included in any resort package from Disney but you do not have to use it. Disney will ask you if you would like this service or not at the time of booking.

This is how Magical Express works. When you book your trip and take this service, you will receive luggage tags at your home along with passes to ride the bus. Before you check your luggage with your airline carrier, you will place the yellow Magical Express tag on your luggage. This will identify it from the other passengers luggage as well as route it to the correct resort. Once you check your luggage with the carrier, you simply forget about it until it shows up at your room. This could be between 3 to 5 hours later, so pack anything you need right away - bathing suits or pjs - in your carry on luggage.

When you land at the airport, head all the way down to the car rental level and follow the signs for Magical Express. Present your passes and the cast members will place you on the appropriate bus. It takes about 30 minutes to get to Disney World and then you will head to the different resorts and drop off passengers.

For the return trip, they will have you on a bus which leaves 3 hours prior to your departure in order to pick up other guests and clear airport security.

    Have a magical vacation!
