What are some great activities or character events to include for 2-3 year olds? We plan to stay at Art of Animation in the first week of October.

    Hi Kimolin!

Welcome to planDisney!  I'm so happy you stopped by to see us as you prepare for your fall visit.  There is so much to see and do around Walt Disney World Resort, so let's dive right into your question!

First, you've made a great choice in your Disney Resort hotel, Kimolin.  My toddler LOVES exploring Disney's Art of Animation Resort - especially the Cars-themed buildings and characters.  The Big Blue Pool is so fun and has zero-entry access, making it very easy for little ones to splash and play.  When it's time to head to Disney's Hollywood Studios or EPCOT, the Disney Skyliner is both fun and functional for kids.  My boys don't even think of it as a mode of transportation, but rather as a favorite attraction. . .and my husband and I love that we don't have to fold our single stroller when we board!  For a more detailed look at Art of Animation, you can check out our recent planDisney resort tour!

Inside the parks, there are countless rides and attractions that even the littlest Mouseketeers can enjoy!  On the Walt Disney World website, you can filter the list of attractions to view options with no height requirements.  You'll find it's a very long list, so you can continue filtering by theme park and other criteria to plan the experiences, rides, and shows that you think your toddler will enjoy most.  A few of my top picks are Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, Frozen Ever After, Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid, and Kilimanjaro Safaris.  While these are all located in different parks and feature different characters, my youngest son loves the immersive experience each provides!

Now, I can't talk about visiting with your little one without mentioning character dining.  You'll find options throughout the resorts and theme parks, but two of my top choices are Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT and Breakfast à la Art at Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera, located inside Disney's Riviera Resort.  I especially love these two when traveling with little ones because your meals are served to your table, so you don't have to juggle a toddler and your plate of food at the buffet!

Kimolin, these are just a few quick suggestions to help you get started, and I'd suggest checking out our planDisney Video Library for even more tips on visiting with little ones!  Don't forget that you've got a friend in me here at planDisney, so please stop by again if you have other questions or would like additional recommendations!

    See ya real soon!
