Is an 18% gratuity automatically added for a 6+ party eating at a buffet on a DP? Also, if I made reservations w/my credit card for both parties involved and the other party didn't leave tip, would my card used for reservation be charged??

    Hi Cindy,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question!

We usually visit Walt Disney World Resort with other families, which means that we’re often in a party of 6 Guests (or more!) when it comes time to stop and have dinner in one of Walt Disney World Resort’s restaurants. 18% gratuity will be automatically added to your party’s bill, regardless of whether you’re eating at a buffet or any other table service location. This 18% gratuity will also appear even if members of your party request separate cheques (and the total number of people on each cheque is less than 6).

Finally, from what I understand, the credit card used to guarantee your reservation is only used for the purposes of charging you the restaurant’s cancellation fee if you fail to show up for your reservation. The people dining with you will be responsible for paying their own tip… but as a former waitress, I implore you to make sure that your waiter or waitress gets tipped at the end of the meal! They work hard to ensure that you’ll have a Magical meal, even at a buffet restaurant.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
