Ahoy there, Trinity!
Welcome aboard planDisney! It sounds like you’re locking in the budget so you know exactly how many doubloons are left for souvenirs, specialty treats, and maybe something sparkly from the shops onboard—always a smart move before setting sail.
When it comes to
recommended gratuities, the amount depends on whether you’re sailing Concierge or not. If you are sailing Concierge, the current recommended gratuity is $27.25 per night, per Guest. If you are not sailing Concierge, the recommended amount is currently $16.00 per night, per Guest. These gratuities cover your incredible Dining Team and your Stateroom Host or Hostess. If you’re Concierge, they also include your Assistant Stateroom Host and the Concierge Lounge team, which explains the higher amount and the extra level of service.
I like to keep my cruise budget shipshape, so I’m a big fan of pre-paying gratuities and having them taken care of when I make my final payment. You can add pre-paid gratuities directly in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, or you can wait and they will be automatically added to your stateroom folio once onboard. If you booked through a travel agent and want to pre-pay, you’ll just need to contact them to have it added.
Another thing I like to do is bring along a little cash. It’s helpful for tipping the friendly porters at the terminal or the guides on
Port Adventures who help turn a great day into an unforgettable one. I also know tipping customs can vary depending on where you’re sailing from or visiting, so it’s a good thing to keep in mind whether you’re cruising closer to home or heading farther across the seas.
I hope this helps as you finish planning and budgeting for your cruise.
Knowing what to expect ahead of time makes it easier to relax and enjoy every magical moment onboard. Here’s to smooth sailing and a vacation where the only thing you’re counting is memories made.
Sea ya real soon with holiday cheer, calm seas, and magical winter memories,
Dustin
