How are gratuities handled on dining plan table service meals for party of 3? Can we pay out of pocket?

    Hi, Carol!

When dining with parties of 5 or less, there is no automatic gratuity added to your table service dining bill. Tipping will be at your discretion, with 15%-18% being customary. I usually tip closer to 20% because of the exceptional service received when dining at Walt Disney World. You can pay for the gratuity with cash, credit, Disney Gift Card, or charge back to your room using your MagicBand

Your actual meal can be "paid" for with your Disney Dining Plan credits. If your entire party is staying in the same room, you will just need to present one MagicBand to be scanned for payment. If on different reservations, ask your friendly server to separate the checks so you can each use your own meal credits.

Plan ahead for your vacation dining by making Dining Reservations up to 180 days in advance. Many locations book up quickly, so get those in-demand reservations like Cinderella's Royal Table or Be Our Guest secured.

Wishing you wonderful dining experiences at Walt Disney World!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
