Ahoy, Cheryl!
Welcome back to planDisney! I love that you’ve charted a course for adventure
aboard the Disney Treasure—and during
Halloween on the High Seas, no less! Between the spell-tacular décor, hauntingly fun activities, and all the boo-tiful details, you’re in for a sailing that’s more treat than trick!
Now, onto your great question—and I have fintastic news! Yes, Disney Cruise Line still provides the traditional gratuity envelopes at the end of your voyage. These handy little envelopes are perfect if you'd like to give a bit more pixie dust to your incredible Cast Members. Whether you prepay your gratuities in advance or have them
added to your onboard account, those envelopes will be delivered to your stateroom toward the end of your cruise, along with cards listing your Dining Team and Stateroom Host.
Personally, I’m a big fan of prepaying gratuities—it helps me check one more thing off the list before boarding. And maybe it’s just my version of “Disney math,” but when I prepay, I feel like I have a few more gold doubloons for souvenirs, sweet treats from
Jumbeaux's Sweets, or an extra round of specialty coffee on sea day mornings. That said, we always bring some extra cash just in case we want to show a little extra appreciation for those Cast Members who go above and beyond. And trust me—they always do.
Here’s another fun tip: If you’ve already handed out all your extra cash to buy that “I can’t leave the port without this” souvenir or tipped your
amazing Port Adventure guide, no worries! Just stop by Guest Services and let them know who you'd like to thank with a little extra cash—they’ll be happy to help you sprinkle some additional gratitude.
One of my favorite memories from a past sailing was when our server talked non-stop about his favorite Disney character. My daughter, who’s basically our onboard Imagineer, surprised him by drawing that very character on his gratuity envelope. It didn’t just add an extra smile to his night—it added one to ours, too. Sometimes the little things mean the most.
I hope this helps as you get ready for a cruise filled with sunshine, sea breezes, and not-so-scary fun. Here’s to a voyage filled with magical moments and a farewell wave that feels more like “See ya real soon!” than “The End.”
Sea ya real soon as May brings sunshine, magical ports, and maybe a Mickey bar or two,
Dustin
