Our grandsons new Magic Bands are linked to My Disney Experience account for our August 2022 trip. They will be returning to WDW in December '22 with their mother who has a My Disney Account. Can those Magic Bands be linked to her account?

    Hi Leo, welcome to planDisney!

The only thing better than experiencing Walt Disney World Resort is experiencing it through the eyes of a child or, in your case, multiple grandchildren! My kids just put the finishing touches on their scrapbook pages from our last trip and my son secretly saved a picture of him and his grandfather enjoying the train village in EPCOT's Germany pavilion, which is now framed in his bedroom. Your grandsons will enjoy experiencing the attractions and interacting with the characters, but their core memories will form in more subtle moments of togetherness. I am thrilled you get to share this special time with them.

My panelist pal Michelle recently defined MagicBands as magic wands for your wrist and I couldn't agree more. These colorful wristbands are both fashionable and functional, allowing you to tap into magic at theme park entry, Lightning Lane entrances, and with Disney PhotoPass photographers.

MagicBands, including the new MagicBand+ designs, are nontransferable, meaning they can only be linked once in My Disney Experience. For your August visit, you likely created My Disney Experience profiles for your grandsons that are managed under your profile. Confirm this by looking at your Family and Friends list, where you should see "Plans Managed by Me" by their names. I understand the boys' mother has her own My Disney Experience account and is planning a December visit. If the mom has also created My Disney Experience profiles for the boys, you'll need a Cast Member's assistance merging the two account profiles that have been created for each grandson. If the mom has not yet created account profiles for the boys, you can follow these steps to give her access to the account profiles managed by you:

    1. Add the mother to your Family and Friends list by clicking "Add a Guest," entering her name and age, and selecting "Invite this Guest to connect." Enter the email address associated with the mom's account and ask her to accept the email invitation to connect. This will add her to your Family and Friends list.
    2. On your Family and Friends list, click "Update" next to your name and make sure it says "My Family and Friends list is shared."
    3. In the mom's Family and Friends list, click "Add a Guest" and "Find through my connected Guests." The boys' names should automagically appear because you and the mom are connected as Family and Friends and your list is shared. Adding the boys to the mom's Family and Friends list means she will be able to view and make plans for them. She will also have access to their vacation entitlements such as linked tickets and MagicBands.

To get a Cast Member's assistance, call the My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+ number, (407) 939-4357. Cast Members are the heart of the 50th Anniversary Celebration and I know it would be their pleasure to assist you. They can even make it so the mom manages the boys' My Disney Experience profiles.

Have a great time making memories with your grandsons this month, Leo.

    Plan magic; planDisney.
