Hello there, Deborah!
A warm welcome to planDisney and thank you for bringing us your question about visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort. I'm excited to hear you're hoping to cheer on your grandson during his upcoming performance at Disney's Contemporary Resort! Since this event is just a few short days away, let's discuss your options for visiting a
Disney Resort hotel without going into the theme parks.
Deborah, your grandson will be performing at one of my family's favorite Deluxe Resort hotels.
Disney's Contemporary Resort sits right between Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon and is connected to Magic Kingdom Park via the
Resort Monorail. At this time,
parking at Disney Resort hotels is restricted to Guests with dining reservations or who are actively staying at the property. Therefore, one option would be to park at the Ticket and Transportation Center (Magic Kingdom Park parking) and take the Resort Monorail over to the resort. At the time of writing, standard parking costs $30 per day (subject to change). So I'd also like to offer a couple of additional alternatives as well:
- As I mentioned, parking at Disney's Contemporary Resort is complimentary for Guests with valid dining reservations. Consider making a dining reservation at one of my favorite Table-Service restaurants on property: Steakhouse 71. Not only could you catch your grandson's performance, but you could also enjoy a superb meal at an upscale establishment offering an expansive menu!
- Parking is free at Disney Springs, so consider visiting this shopping and dining hub before the performance and taking complimentary bus transportation to Disney's Contemporary Resort when it's time for the orchestra performance.
Deborah, I hope you've found these suggestions helpful. I hope you enjoy your grandson's show and the rest of your time at The Most Magical Place on Earth! If you have any additional questions about how to optimize your time at the Walt Disney World Resort, you can always stop back by
planDisney again. We're here to help you have a magical and memorable time!
Warm wishes,
Lauren
