We want to make our grandsons first visit to WDW very special & magical. They will be 6 & 8. Is there any pointers that we can get on what's big for boys to colIect or trade these days, what rides, what shows or anything that they would like? Tha

Hello Sue! It's hard to know what they would like as I do not know their personal interests, but I can give you some fun ideas that boys their age might enjoy.

*Trading pins- You can purchase a lanyard and starter pack of pins and trade with Cast Members around the parks. The pin trading at Walt Disney World has a huge following, and it is a fun way to interact with Cast Members and other guests.

*Coin press- If you are looking for a relatively cheap collectible item, go no further! There are coin press machines located all over Walt Disney World Resort, and they each have different dies to choose from. Buy a coin press collector's book to store them in and you've got a start to a collection that you can build on over the years.

*Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom- is a fun interactive game that will lead you on an adventure all throughout the Magic Kingdom.

*Attractions- Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Splash Mountain, Star Tours-The Adventures Continue, Toy Story Midway Mania, Jungle Cruise.

If your grandsons are into Star Wars then they would love Disney's Hollywood Studios. They can train at the Jedi Training Academy and there is also a fun shop called Tatooine Traders where they can build their own Light Sabers or Droids. If they are animal lovers they will love Disney's Animal Kingdom. There is a dinosaur section as well as opportunities for wildlife encounters.

If you could come back and provide more details on your grandson's interests it would help me find a focus and help narrow down the huge list of amazing things to do at Disney. I'd love to be of more help. Have a magical day!

We love all things Disney and when we aren’t watching Disney films or planning our next vacation, we love to go to touring Disney shows. I also love to cook, listen to music, read books, and paint. With my experience planning vacations and navigating the parks from a single parent’s perspective, I hope to be able to add a little “pixie dust” to your vacation! Learn More About Sarah
