Our grandsons 6 and 9 don't have big appetites we was considering the dining plans but not sure. Wanted to know if there was any advice. we are doing character dining and fantasmic dinner show. Or just pay as we go. Thank you!

    Hi Sue,

Well don't you have a "Grand" vacation planned?! How exciting for you to be vacationing and making Magical memories with your grandsons at Walt Disney World. Personally when vacationing with children I usually find the Disney Dining Plan to be of great value. Since you will be doing character dining, you have probably noticed that many of the character meals are served either "family style" or "buffet" and most of the character dining meals meals are a set price indicating you either pay the adult or child's rate, not how much each person eats. For meals such as this the Disney Dining Plan can be a great value when dining with children since the cost for an entire day of food for a child with the Disney Dining Plan can be equal to (or sometimes less) than the cost of one of the character meals alone when you pay out of pocket. The only way to know for sure is to do a quick cost comparison for the restaurants in which you would like to dine.

The other consideration when deciding upon the Disney Dining Plan is how carefree you want to be with your vacationing. Personally even when I vacation with just my husband we usually opt to purchase the Disney Dining Plan. I love being able to pay for the majority of my food expenses prior to vacation and then sit back and relax while I am on vacation instead of watching my budget.

There is more than one plan to choose from and most often I choose the Disney Dining Plan which offers 1 Quick-Service meal, 1 Table-Service meal, and 1 Snack per day per person. You may use your snack and meal credits in any order. So if you find your little guys do not use their snack credits, feel free to use them to purchase goodies to take home.

I hope this helps you with your decision making Sue. If you have any further Disney Dining Plan questions, don't hesitate to write back.

    Blessings,
    Brenda ºOº
