Hello I have 2 grandsons ages 7 and 11 that are special needs. I have registered them for the children's actitivities and am wondering what else I should do to secure extra supervision as they have neurological and sensory issues.

    Hi Helen,

I would suggest that you contact Disney Cruise Line directly at (800) 951-3532 or you can visit this link to ask them a question through email and wait for them to answer you back if that is more convenient for you.

I know they are very accommodating and you can let them know ahead of time of any special needs so they have time to schedule an extra counselor (if necessary) while your children are in their care, but I do know that when I was onboard with my daughter who is a severe asthmatic (I know this is not really related to your children's needs), I was told that the counselors are not able to administer any medicine to her. My point is that they have so many rules, regulations and policies in effect for the safety of our children while in their care onboard (especially when it has to do with sensory and neurological disorders) and it would be better for you to speak directly to those in charge that are able to help you with such a specific question that I would not know the answer to...sorry.  I can tell you that you will be given a pager so they may contact you at anytime in case of any medical or emotional needs.  They also will have a trained CPR/First Aid crew member available at all times I was told when I checked my daughter into the Kids Club.  Hope this helps a bit, have a magical cruise.

    Best wishes,
    Brigitta
