Hi Linda,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love that you are considering these questions prior to your visit. Since everyone in my family has some sort of dietary restriction, we have learned to navigate dining with those restrictions in mind.
First, I suggest that you review the information regarding
Special Dietary Requests. Make advanced dining reservations and, when doing so, make a note of your special dietary request on the dining reservation. In our experience, because we made note of it on our dining reservations, every server at a table-service restaurant has been aware our special dietary requests. In many instances, the chef has come out to talk us through the menu and/or buffet items that we should avoid.
At some restaurants, there are allergy-friendly menus. Take a look this
sample allergy-friendly menu. We use allergy-friendly menus to help us determine what we can or cannot eat. If you want to order a few grocery items to help manage your grandson's carbohydrate intake a little better, try a grocery delivery service like Garden Grocer. We also bring our own snacks to carry with us in the parks. Finally, you can email Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com for additional assistance.
Linda, on each of our visits, cast members have been incredibly helpful during our dining experiences. I trust you will have similar support!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
