My grandson will be turning 3 at the end of our vacation. My son wants him to build a droid for his birthday, but reservations start at age 3. Can he build a droid?

    Welcome, Young Padawan to planDisney!

We are all so happy to see you here visiting us today. I’m even more excited to hEAR that you will be visiting a Galaxy Far Far Away very soon!

Your day exploring Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be filled with many adventures. You might even get the chance to pilot your very own adventure aboard the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. No matter what you plan to do and see during your visit, I’m sure it will be an out of this world experience as you journey through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Droid Depot is the perfect place to build your very own Astromech Unit. I honestly couldn't think of a better way to leave, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, then with an indispensable sidekick. The age recommendation for builders is 3 years old and up. The good news is, builders are allowed to have one Guest accompany them during their reservation time. I’m sure with the help of you or your son, your grandson will be able to build his very own droid.

After they’ve completed their building, I recommend lunch or dinner at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. This local Black Spire eatery brings Travelers from all across the galaxy together, to enjoy a variety of galactic grub. I highly recommend the Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread, it is my absolute favorite.

Linda, I hope you have an incredible time exploring Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can help with as you continue to plan for this galactic adventure.

May the Force be with you!

Meet the Panelist: Shantel, Alabama

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
