    My grandson is turning 6 in April. What Star Wars adventures would he be able to enjoy?

    Hi Bobbie,

    Welcome to planDisney! I’m so happy that you’re bringing your padawan to Disneyland. I’m honored to serve as your Jedi counsel so you can guide him in the ways of the Force. At Disneyland, rides don’t have an age restriction, but rather a height requirement. All of these rides are thrilling, but very enjoyable. If I had to list them from least to most intense, they would be:

    * Star Tours
    * Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
    * Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

    All three rides are recommended for kids and are labeled as thrill rides, featuring small drops, dark settings, and loud sounds. Rise of the Resistance is the only ride listed as “scary.” I’d say this label comes from the suspenseful moments when Kylo Ren tries to attack riders with his lightsaber. You know your youngling best, so these might be things he’ll want to know before boarding—or they might just be the perfect challenge to tackle when he becomes a Jedi Knight.

    If you feel these rides might not be your grandson’s speed, there are also some unique Star Wars experiences he can enjoy:

    * Star Wars-themed food: No trip is complete without trying some of the unique food in Batuu. Your grandson might get a kick out of drinking Blue Milk or be fascinated by the giant fire pit near Ronto Roasters.

    *Character experiences: There are lots of galactic citizens walking around Black Spire Outpost. You can find the Mandalorian, Chewie, and even Ahsoka. Use the Disneyland mobile app to locate various Star Wars characters throughout the park.

    *Droid Depot: Your grandson can choose from a variety of parts to bring a droid to life—his very own!

    *Savi’s Workshop: In this workshop, visitors can build and customize their own lightsaber. Every Star Wars fan I know has been thrilled by this experience. Reservations for Savi’s Workshop can be made up to 60 days in advance.

    Wherever the day takes you, be sure to end the night by watching the fireworks from Batuu. This is a completely unique fireworks experience that cannot be missed!

    I hope this information is helpful, Bobbie. I’m sure it will help you plan the perfect Star Wars trip for your grandson. If you have any other questions or need help planning, feel free to reach out to me or one of my fellow panelists. We’d be happy to share our thoughts.

    May the Force be with you always!
