My grandson (24m at the time of our trip) has a special needs Zippie Voyage Wheelchair/Stroller. My question is how accommodating are the buses with this? It does come apart but the seat does NOT fold up and he can not sit up on his own.

Hi there, Ellen! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for stopping by and allowing us to help your family plan their Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Walt Disney World Resort is incredibly accommodating with their Guests with disabilities! They actually offer many services and accommodations for Guests with cognitive disabilities, hearing disabilities, mobility disabilities, and more! I have always been pleased by just how informed Cast Members are regarding various disabilities and amazed with how helpful these services have been for me and my family.

Bus transportation is actually one area that is incredibly accommodating for Guests with disabilities! There are specific lines and sections of the bus devoted to Guests utilizing mobility devices. This allows Guests to get the appropriate amount of attention and assistance when boarding buses for transportation!

Medical strollers, such as the one your grandson uses, fall into the same category as other mobility devices. This means that he will be able to remain in his medical stroller if needed. His medical stroller will just need to be strapped into the mobility device section of the bus. Here, you or another family member can sit right or stand next to him and keep him company! If you and your family would prefer to hold him during your bus ride, you may have his medical stroller strapped into the mobility device section and hold him. It will ultimately be up to you to decide which option would be easiest for him!

Hopefully, this information will help make your transportation throughout your vacation as smooth as possible! Have fun on your upcoming vacation at Walt Disney World Resort!
