Hello, Linda! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
How wonderful that you're planning to take your grandson to Magic Kingdom Park! Some of my fondest childhood memories were made with my grandparents at Walt Disney World Resort, and the same is true for my daughter with her grandmother.
Since your grandson is three years old, he will need a
ticket to enter any of the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks or Water Parks. Tickets for children ages 3-9 are priced differently than adult tickets, although the 4-day or 5-day Military Promotional Tickets are the same price for both children and adults. To qualify for the
specially-priced Military Promotional Tickets, in addition to being a veteran, your spouse would need to be retired from the U.S. Military (with 20 or more years of Military service) or classified as 100 percent disabled. If your spouse qualifies, you can purchase tickets from your local base or from
Shades of Green, a special hotel on the Walt Disney World Resort for military members and their families. After verifying your eligibility (with a valid Military ID), you can also order your tickets by emailing or calling the Shades of Green ticket office.
Eligible active and retired members of the U.S. Military can also qualify for discounted rooms at other official Walt Disney World Resort hotels, and can also purchase a specially-priced
Memory Maker in person at any Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park ticket window.
I hope you and your grandson enjoy your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth! Please let us know if there are any other questions we can answer for you.
Amy
