Hi Kate, and welcome to
planDisney!
I saw your question and just had to jump in because our little ones are very tall, too! When we took our two-year-old to Walt Disney World, we were often asked about their age at the entrance of each park. The Cast Members were always polite and friendly, just doing their job to ensure everything was in order. Since we also visit from the UK, I knew we had booked the correct tickets because you must enter dates of birth during the purchase process.
In our experience, we never had any issues when we simply confirmed that our little Mouseketeer was still two years old. However, if you want some extra peace of mind, you might consider taking a photo of your grandson’s passport photo to have on hand, just in case. We never needed to show additional proof, but it’s always good to be prepared!
Now, here’s the exciting part - there are some definite perks to having a tall two-year-old because it means they can experience even more attractions at Walt Disney World! If your grandchild is above 35 inches (around 89 cm) tall, they can enjoy some of the bigger attractions, which is so much fun. For instance, our little one loved riding the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom Park, and we had a blast on
Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Another exciting option is Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where an additional harness is provided for smaller riders to keep them safe.
If bigger thrills are not on the menu, there are still so many unforgettable experiences for the whole family. Parades,
dance parties with their favourite characters, and all-around crowd-pleaser rides like the
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
I hope this helps ease your concerns, Kate, and adds a little more magic to your planning. If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out. We’re always here to help make your Walt Disney World adventure as wonderful as possible!
Wishing you a magical adventure!
Louise
