I want to take my grandson on a cruise to the Bahamas next month. His passport will have just expired with no time to get a new one. Can he go with just his birth certificate?

Ahoy Jill, and welcome to planDisney!  I love that you are planning a special vacation for your grandson.

On closed-loop sailings, your grandson will need his original or copy of his state-issued birth certificate if he is 15 years of age or younger. If he is at least 16, he will need a government-issued photo ID in addition to his original or copy of his state-issued birth certificate.   If your grandson is under the age of 18 and at least one of his parents or legal guardians will not be traveling with you,an Authorization for Minor to Travel without a Parent or Legal Guardian form will also need to be completed and brought to the port with you.

There are some great itineraries available for next month, including the special themed cruises PixarDay at Sea and Marvel Day at Sea.  I hope you find something great for your magical voyage.  If you have any other questions, sail back toplanDisney.

    Adventure is out there!
