We are grandparents taking 8 and 9 years old grandkids on vacation in June 2012. Should it be Disney Cruise to Alaska or Disney World. Is there lots of theme activities for this age group on board.? thanks for reading this.

    Hi, Pamela!

Granted, I'm a little biased toward a Disney vacation at sea as the Disney Cruise Mom. Yet, since you are from gorgeous British Columbia, I have to give my full recommendation to take the grandkids on a Disney cruise to Alaska. You're only a hop, skip and a jump from Seattle -- where the Disney Wonder will sail from next summer. Plus, not only will the kids be entertained and amazed at all there is to do on the ship, but you all will enjoy an enriching experience as a family together -- both on board and at the exciting and adventurous ports of call.

Take a look at my seven-day diary about my family's voyage to Alaska last June on the Disney Wonder. There are seven separate videos on the Disney Cruise Line YouTube Channel which outline what we did and what we saw. There's even a day where we took a sneak peek at Victoria, B.C. -- which still remains one of my all-time favorite ports of call for Disney Cruise Line.

So, stay in touch and let me know what you decide. I'd love to give you more advice and tips on a Disney Alaskan cruise. Walt Disney World is a fabulous vacation option, too -- and the kids will be "wow-ed." I simply think that this particular cruise is tailor-made for you and your grandchildren. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
