Hi there, Lou!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, fellow Texan! I am so excited to hEAR you are considering booking an adventure at sea with Captain Mickey! So much fun awaits you onboard including
non-stop activities and the chance to make memories that will last a lifetime!
Oh, what a fun group you have traveling together! There is truly something for everyone onboard, no matter the age, but the five and seven-year old are at the perfect ages to love everything that a Disney Cruise Line vacation has to offer. As far as accommodations go, my recommendation for traveling with five is to get two staterooms – either connecting or adjacent. There are some Deluxe Family Oceanview staterooms or suites on each ship that can accommodate five, but comfort wise (and budget-wise) you might be better off with two staterooms.
Location and type of stateroom will be dependent upon your budget for the trip as well as availability. I always recommend looking at the deck plan of the ship you are sailing on and take into consideration where you might find yourselves more often. Mid-ship is always a good starting point since you will be right in the middle of all the action with easy access to a variety of venues onboard. If you think you will have some that are early to bed, then definitely consider what is above and below you on the
deck plan before making a stateroom selection.
But, in all reality – you will be on the “Mickey Boat” for a magical adventure so really anywhere you end up will be perfect! You may find that you aren’t even in your stateroom all that often with so much to do and sea onboard!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
