Hello, Brooke,
Welcome to planDisney. I'm excited to hear you're planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort and am happy to help!
Although living so close to the magic is already a great perk, Florida residents have access to an extra bit of pixie dust in the form of
special ticket offers and discounts for their visits to the parks. Guests hoping to take advantage of these offers must present valid proof of Florida residency in order to activate their tickets. I reached out to a Cast Member regarding the residency verification process and was told that guests 18 years or older can complete a
Digital Residency Verification for themselves online at the time of purchase.
Proof of residency can include a Valid Florida driver’s license or valid Florida state-issued ID (both showing a Florida address) or a Valid Florida-based military ID.
When purchasing
tickets for guests other than themselves, the verification process must be completed in person for each guest over the age of 18 before the tickets can be used. Based on this, it's my understanding that the grandparents would need to be present with the children to validate the tickets. I hope this clears up any confusion!
I'm not sure when you are planning to visit but there are several
other current offers that you might also want to consider. As a self-proclaimed Disney foodie, I'm definitely excited about the dining plan offer for Disney+ subscribers! Be sure to review all the details to see if anything works for your travel dates.
Brooke, please come back and see us again with more planning questions.
Magic and memories,
Amy
