Can grandparents do kid exchange? There will be 4 adults and 5 children and 2 grandparents, If the 4 adults want to ride a ride and the 2 grandparents watch the kids, can the 2 grandparents get on the ride through kid exchange.Do grandparents do fastpass

    Hi Nancy,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another great question!

I’m happy to say that grandparents can absolutely use Rider Switch, at any Walt Disney World Resort attraction that offers this service. To use the example in your question, all 6 adults and children would arrive at the attraction entrance, and tell the Cast Member that they’d like to use Rider Switch. The Cast Member will then give the adult members of your party (grandparents or other family members – up to 3 people in total) who plan to wait with the children a return time for when they’ll be able to experience the attraction by scanning their MagicBand. This return time will then be linked to their My Disney Experience account.

As for whether grandparents typically make FastPass+ selections, I can tell you that my parents absolutely did during our last Disney Parks vacation as a family. If they aren’t interested in more thrill rides such as roller coasters, don’t forget that other, slower moving attractions such as Peter Pan’s Flight are extremely popular and would also be an excellent use of your party’s three advanced FastPass+ selections at Magic Kingdom Park

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other planning questions. We’re always happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
