Hi Lori,
Welcome to planDisney! Disney World is so much sweeter with family, and there is nothing better than watching your kids make core memories with their grandparents at the Most Magical Place on Earth! How lucky for you all that those grandparents live in Florida and have access to discounted Disney World tickets.
Any guest over the age of 18 must show
proof of Florida residency to use a
discounted Florida resident ticket. Most guests use their Florida driver's license, a state ID card, or even their most recent utility bills. Guests under the age of 18 do not have to show anything to prove residency. A Florida resident can purchase tickets for minors but will need to be present to provide proof of residency and validate their tickets the first time they use them. If you all plan on headed to the theme parks together this should not be an issue at all!
When we travel with multiple generations, I always plan a
character dining experience midday so that we can all take a break and relax for a bit. This has been super helpful for my family when traveling with both grandparents and little kids as they often need some time to rest from all the walking in the theme parks.
I love a character dining experience for this break because you still get to take fun photos, meet characters, and sometimes dance along to the party. At Disney's Hollywood Studios,
Hollywood and Vine is always a fun option because the characters dress for the holidays, and there are lots of options for picky eaters in your crew. If you are looking for a princess experience, there is nothing better than
Cinderella's Royal Table. There is something truly special about dining in Cinderella Castle with all your princess friends.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
