Can a grandparent book a DAS for a grandchild?

Welcome to planDisney, Ginger! I'm glad you stopped by today with your question about utilizing the Disability Access Service at the Walt Disney World Resort. This service is super helpful for Guests who have difficulty tolerating a traditional standby line for attractions, and allows eligible users the option of a digital wait time to provide a more inclusive and welcoming environment in the parks!

Ginger, I'm not sure if you are asking about a grandparent registering his or her grandchild as the eligible guest using the DAS pass, or as a linked guest for the grandparent utilizing this service, so I'm going to provide information for both of these scenarios to be sure you get the right information!

If a grandparent wishes to register a grandchild as a DAS user, this process can be completed either in advance via a live video chat or in person at a Guest Relations window at any of the theme parks. Keep in mind that while the grandparent is welcome to speak on the child's behalf, if the child is registering as the DAS user, he or she will need to be present for the video chat or in person at the window so that the Cast Member can take their picture to keep on file alongside of their DAS pass. Once the child has been approved and DAS has been connected to the child's account, other guests connected to the child's account on their Family & Friends list will be eligible to make DAS selections throughout the day provided that they also have eligible theme park admission.

If the grandparent is the DAS pass holder and wants to include the grandchild on DAS selections, ensure that the child's account is linked to yours under your Family & Friends list, and if the child has eligible park admission, the grandparent will be able to include the grandchild on DAS selections throughout the day!

One last DAS tip I'll share is that if you do complete the online preregistration, you may do so between 2 and 30 days prior to your trip, and as part of this process, you will be able to make two advance DAS selections for each of the theme parks you will be visiting. This is a great way to have a few attractions already chosen before you arrive so you can be sure to maximize the magic that is waiting for you!

I hope this information is helpful as you continue your planning! If you have any other questions about the DAS process, or vacation planning in general, feel free to write me back anytime
