My grandmother and great aunt are planning a trip to Disney. They are both in their 80s. Which parks do you think are the best fit for people who want nothing to do with rides, but want the Disney experience?

    Hi, Rachel!
Thanks so much for checking in with me on the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It is possible to enjoy Walt Disney World Resort without the rides. I even caught myself enjoying a day like that unintentionally last year. (I promise I'll explain.)

I think your grandmother and great aunt would enjoy Epcot a lot, especially during the Flower and Garden Festival in the spring. This year, it starts on March 2nd and continues until May 30th. I had the chance to attend the festival last year and I was floored by the amazing topiaries and gardens all across the park. Not only was the part breathtakingly beautiful, there were extra food options all around the World Showcase.

Another fantastic time of the year is during Epcot International Food and Wine Festival between October and November. (The 2016 dates aren't out yet.) During this festival, they can travel around World Showcase eating a stunning number of snacks, meals, desserts and drinks from around the world. I had a chance to attend the festival and was so distracted by the delicious food, I missed two FastPass+ reservations on rides in Future World.

I hope your grandmother and great aunt have a fantastic visit to Disney World! Let me know if I can answer any more questions before their visit.

I’m a mom, wife and goldendoodle dog owner who is not afraid to ride a fast roller coaster again and again. I love to travel - which is good since I telework with a job in Washington, DC. I’ve visited Disneyland and Walt Disney World multiple times and it’s fed into my belief that you’re never too old to have fun. I run when I can and recently earned my runDisney Coast to Coast medal! I also love photography and founded an online special needs community. Learn More About Jen
