Hello Robin!
Welcome back again to planDisney! I love that you are heading to Walt Disney World Resort to make memories with your sweet family! I'm sure your grandkids will be so excited to see you and you will love seeing their faces as they experience so many new and special things!
Getting to and from the airport can be a stressful thing sometimes and I know that I get anxious trying to manage all the transportation and luggage. Robin, I'm glad you came here as I am glad to share some transportation options that have worked for me. There are no free options but these two are the most reliable and you should weigh the costs when deciding between them.
My two top choices are:
1. Book a ride with Mears Connect. They allow guests to book transportation right online between MCO to Walt Disney World Resort. They operate 24 hours a day and 7 days a week and are located in each of the terminals in the airport. Sometimes there is a large shuttle bus or a smaller van. It is not always known which one but you may be sharing your ride with other travelers. The shuttle bus does tend to make a few stops at different Resorts but I like that it's easy and low stress. You can set it up so that your trip back to the airport is finalized as well.
2. Book a rideshare such as with Uber or Lyft. You can do that as soon as you arrive and have your luggage or you can sometimes pre-book it before you arrive a few days ahead. There are a lot of rideshare vehicles near MCO airport even late at night and I have always found someone to take me to the Resorts.
I highly suggest that before you arrive you complete Online check-in so that you can have
Direct-to-Room Service. When completing check-in online you will let
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort the approximate time you will arrive. This will help Cast Members have your room ready for your arrival. Almost every time I do this I find my room ready for me by the time I grab my luggage. I usually receive a text or see the room ready on the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. You can head straight to your room and unlock your room door with your MagicBand or your app. Easy!
If you are hungry, know that the World Premiere Food Court at
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort closes at 11:00 pm most nights.
Dinner options include sandwiches, Citrus-Basil Salmon, various burgers, and even a Chili-Cheese All-Beef Food-long Hot Dog. The transportation time from MCO can be about an hour to the Resorts with traffic so if you think you may miss out grab something from the airport before you leave.
I hope this was helpful and you have a lovely time!
Happy Planning!
