Hiya, Ralph! Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so happy to see you here with another great planning question. This Louisiana girl is so excited to be able to chat Disney with my neighbor to the west!
The only thing better than a magical adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth is enjoying the adventure with your favorite people. A trip to
Walt Disney World Resort with the whole family is oh-so-fun and creates magical memories that last a lifetime and span generations. I'm so excited to see that your family adventure is just around the riverbend, and I'm more than happy to help you and your grandkids have the BEST. DAY. EVER!
I think you will be happy to hear that you can absolutely make plans with your grandchildren on your My Disney Experience app, but it takes a few steps and permission from mom and dad first. Since the kiddos' parents are currently the managers of their Walt Disney World plans, for you to purchase Disney Genie+ and make
Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane selections for them, mom and dad must give you permission to also manage the kids' plans. I'm happy to walk you through the steps to do this.
First, make sure that you and your grandkids' parents are connected via your Family & Friends list. To do this, log in to your
My Disney Experience account, hover over the "My Disney Experience" tab and click "
My Family & Friends" to see your list. If the parents are not on your list, go ahead and add them now. If they are already listed there, now, you must add the kids to your Family & Friends list. To do this, scroll down, click "Add a Guest," select "Find through my connected Guests," find your grandchildren and add them. Their parents will receive an email and will have to accept the invitation for you to also manage the kids' plans.
Once the parents confirm that you can also manage the kids' plans, you should now see them on your Family & Friends list on the My Disney Experience website and app. When you are adding Genie+ and making Lightning Lane selections on the My Disney Experience app, you will now be able to select your grandkids when planning your best Disney day. Let the magic begin!
I hope this was helpful, Ralph, and I hope you and your family have the most magical and memorable time! Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you may have along the way.
Adventure is out there!
