Hi Susan,
I’m so glad you brought your question to us here at planDisney. How exciting that you will be arriving to
Walt Disney World Resort in just a few days for your vacation! Our family had so many magical moments traveling with extended family, and I know you will, too.
So, let’s get things started. First, if Grandma hasn’t already assigned the tickets to your children in her
My Disney Experience Account, you can easily assign them to your account. You will simply go to My Disney Experience on the website and select “My Plans.” Once there, scroll down to “My Plans, Reservations and Tickets” and select “Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker” and select “Link Reservations and Purchases.” Finally, from there you will select “Tickets” and enter the ticket number Grandma received in her ticket confirmation email and assign the ticket to your son.\
Now, if Grandma created a profile for your son in her account, you would need to make sure that she and your son are a part of your
Family & Friends in My Disney Experience. Once again, go to the website and select “My Plans” and then “My Family & Friends.” From there, select “Add a Guest” and follow the prompts to add Grandma to your list. Grandma will have to give you
access to your son’s plans. This can be accomplished through the “Family & Friends” page, choosing “Add a Guest” and then “Find through Connected Guests” and follow the prompts. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel,
the simplest way to connect is to have your reservation number for your trip listed in everyone’s profile. This will automatically link your plans with every member in the party.
Your next stop will be the
Registering for Disability Access Service page on the website, which you can do up to 2 days prior to your visit. I encourage you to read the information as you scroll down the page to find “Ready to Chat with a Cast Member?” You will need to read and agree to the Terms and Conditions by selecting the blue Terms and Conditions button. Once you have completed that step, you will return to the previous page and see that the “Request Live Video Chat” button will now be blue. Just click there and you will enter the queue for a live video chat with a Cast Member.
Susan, did you know that Walt Disney World has
Services for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities, including helpful informational guides with Attraction Details, knowing what to expect on your vacation, as well as information about break areas and companion restrooms and more?
I hope this information is helpful, Susan.
Please let us know if you have other planning questions. We are here to help. I trust your vacation will be filled with pixie-dusted moments!
Remember, you are the magic,
Shannon
