I am going to take my grandkids on a Disney vacation. They are: 6 yr. old girl and 1 yr. old boy. Would suggest WD World or WD cruise?

    Hi Susan!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

My family has been to Walt Disney World, to Disneyland, and we have sailed with Disney Cruise Line.  All are wonderful vacations.  Disney makes it very easy to visit Walt Disney World and to sail with Disney Cruise Line with small children.  This is not an easy question, because there are a lot of pros and cons to both.

In a nutshell, however, I would say that if you are looking for a more relaxing vacation, then you should do a Disney Cruise!  After the all the ships are relatively small (especially when compared to Walt Disney World) and you do not have to cover a lot of ground; Walt Disney World, on the other hand, is twice the size of Manhattan Island in New York City or about the size of San Francisco, CA.

Also, if you think this will be your one and only one trip to Walt Disney World, or if you don't plan to return for many years, then I suggest waiting until the 1 year old is a little older.  That is because he will really be too young to remember the magic of visiting Walt Disney World and the attractions.

As I wrote before, this is a difficult question.  The good news is you really can't go wrong either way.  I suggest getting the free planning DVD for both Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line and seeing which one appeals to you more.

Good luck with your decision.  If you have any more questions on Walt Disney World, I would be happy to answer them.  You can send questions directly to me.  If you have any more questions about the Disney Cruise Line, I suggest sending them to the panelists on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel who specialize in Disney Cruise Line vacations.
