Hi there, Erika!
Welcome to planDisney! Please pass along my thanks to your grandfather for his years of dedicated service, that is a huge achievement and sacrifice. I love that he wants to visit the Disneyland Resort with your little princess!
Disneyland Resort does have
discounted tickets available for eligible military personnel, which in this case means individuals who are active or retired members of the US military, including the National Guard, Reservists, the US Coast Guard, the US Space Force, the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service (PHS), and the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). If you aren't sure where your grandfather fits into that requirement I recommend calling his nearest military base to get some clarification. You can find the
list of locations participating in this offer here, along with phone numbers. These offices should be able to answer questions about his personal ticket eligibility, types of tickets, and how to purchase the correct tickets.
Once you have your park tickets, you'll want to link them to your Disney account and
make your park reservations as soon as possible. I also recommend making a dining reservation once you're 60 days away from your visit—
Carnation Cafe is one of our favorites! During your visit, I highly recommend taking a few minutes to enjoy the daily Flat Retreat Ceremony on Main Street, U.S.A. (usually around 4:30 PM). It's a wonderful pause to thank our service members, I think it would be a meaningful experience for your grandfather to share with his family.
Multi-generation trips to Disneyland Park are one of my favorite things, Erika! I hope this information helps you get the ticket side of things all figured out. If you have other questions about your visit please feel free to
send me a note here and I'll do my best to help!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
