Hi Ed,
It is my understanding that as long as your grandchild is under 18 and you've got your Florida residency proof handy, you're in for a magical ride. You’ll need to provide proof of a Florida residential address to purchase a
Florida Resident Park ticket.
If you purchase a Florida Resident Park ticket, you may be able to bypass Guest Relations as long as you can provide proof of being a Florida Resident. You can now
verify your residency online by filling out the “Your Florida Resident Information” form upon check-out when you purchase tickets through Disneyworld.com or complete the “Customize Your Tickets” step when you purchase through the My Disney Experience App. You will need to present a Valid Florida driver’s license (must have a Florida address), a Valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address) or a Valid Florida-based military ID.
Other family members will need to purchase standard Theme Park tickets. If you can verify your Florida residency at the time of purchasing the ticket, it is my understanding that you would likely not need to be at the park when she uses the ticket since the ticket would need to be assigned to her in her
My Disney Experience account. However, this is subject to change at any time.
With that being said, consider spending a day at the parks with her! From the swashbuckling fun of
Pirates of the Caribbean to the sugar rush of Dole Whip at
Aloha Isle, every moment is a chance to bond and make memories. And let's not forget the best part: snagging those sweet, sweet deals on tickets!
So, to all you Florida grannies and grandpas, keep spreading those smiles and making memories—it's the ultimate perk of being young at heart in the Sunshine State! So, you march up to those gates with your grandkid in tow, ready to sprinkle some pixie dust on her day.
