Hiya Patrick,
Welcome to planDisney! Visiting Walt Disney World Resort with your granddaughter will be so much fun. I hope you all enjoy the holiday decorations,
EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays, and making many core memories together.
Patrick, the great news about
MagicBands is that if it is linked to your
My Disney Experience account (or your granddaughter’s My Disney Experience account) and active, it can be reused for your upcoming trip. One thing to note, Patrick, is that the MagicBand cannot have ever been associated with someone else’s account for it to be used by your little Mouseketeer. To double-check that your granddaughter’s MagicBand is active:
1. Log into the MyDisney Experience Account with which your granddaughter’s MagicBand is associated.
2. Select “My MagicBands and Cards” from the drop-down menu in the top right.
3. Click the arrow next to your granddaughter’s name, and all of the MagicBands and cards associated with your granddaughter’s account will appear.
4. Verify that the ID on the back of MagicBand matches one of the listed options, and if it does (and it is listed as active), then your granddaughter is good to use it for your vacation.
5. Any theme park tickets assigned to her will be automatically linked to all active cards and MagicBands.
Before I let you go, Patrick, let me answer your final question about charging the MagicBand. If your granddaughter’s MagicBand is one of the older generation MagicBands (not a MagicBand+), it does not require charging. The internal batteries are advertised to last up to two years; in my experience, they last way longer than that. I hope this was helpful, Patrick! As you continue finalizing your previous details for your upcoming trip, please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning!
