Granddaughter has lupus and diabetes. We rented a wheelchair for her last time but she now has a younger sister. Are we able to use a sit n stand stroller in place of a wheelchair? How would that work in the lines?

    Hi, Shawn!

I have seen such strollers in use at Walt Disney World, so I don't think you'd have a problem using one on your upcoming visit.

I am wondering, however, if it is time for your family to investigate the use of a Guest Assistance Card (GAC) on your next trip to WDW. In short, ask your granddaughter's doctor to write a note which specifies what she would need in the parks (i.e. needs alternate access where available to avoid standing in long lines). Present this to a Cast Member at Guest Relations in one of the parks and you will be give a GAC for the length of your stay.

I've used these GAC cards on both our own family trips as well as those I take with 400+ high school seniors and am so pleased that this option exists for those who need it.The complications for families with members who simply cannot stand in line are eliminated when they obtain a GAC. What a wonderful way to help ensure that families stay together, right?
