My Granddaughter goes to Disney College and she’s taking a gap year, can I send a gift card to her for food in the Park?

    Hey there, Julie!

Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with an excellent question about supporting someone at the Walt Disney World Resort from afar. If I'm not visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth myself, I'm either dreaming about my next vacation or living vicariously through a family member or friend who's visiting at that time! As a fellow Michigander, I'd be happy to help you send a little pixie dust to your loved one at the Walt Disney World Resort!

Julie, it sounds like your granddaughter is currently participating in the Disney College Program. How exciting! A family member of mine participated in the program a few years ago and we always enjoyed going down to visit her at The Most Magical Place on Earth during her time there. Sending your granddaughter a Disney Gift Card is a wonderfully thoughtful way to show her you're thinking of her, Julie. After all, Disney Gift Cards are accepted as a method of payment at almost all food and merchandise locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort! If you know her mailing address, you might consider sending her a physical gift card in the mail. These handy cards can be purchased at many major grocery and retail stores or on the Disney Store website. Alternatively, you may want to opt for a Disney Gift Card eGift, which can be conveniently delivered via email!

When you purchase a Disney Gift Card eGift, you can add a personalized note to be included in the email for the recipient. I encourage you to include a heartfelt message letting your granddaughter know she's on your mind, and mentioning what you hope she'll use the funds toward. Will she enjoy some traditional Disney Parks snacks using your gift - a warm churro, bag of fresh popcorn, or a melty Mickey Premium Bar!? Perhaps she'll reserve a lovely Table-Service dining experience to enjoy a relaxing evening at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Alternatively, she could eat her way "around the world" at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival! The choices are virtually endless.

Julie, I hope you've found this information helpful. I wish you the best of luck with your gift delivery and hope your granddaughter enjoys every magical moment of her Disney College Program experience! If you have any additional questions about your next vacation to see her at the Walt Disney World Resort, you're always welcome to revisit us here at planDisney. We're here to help you make magical memories with the people you love most!

    Warm wishes,

    Lauren
