Hello, Joan.
I just love how easy Walt Disney World makes it to dine with
special dietary requests. Teppan Edo is a great place for your granddaughter to eat. The Cast Members that work at this restaurant take a gluten allergy very seriously. First of all, if you haven't already, I'd go ahead and make a note on your reservation about your granddaughter's allergy. Then once you've arrived and are checking in at
Teppan Edo, remind them again. After you've been seated, the manager will come over to your table to talk about the gluten-free offering available that night. I think that you'll be happy to know that rice is most certainly on that menu. The manager will then take your granddaughter's order and have it made first or to the back and cook it separately, so there is no cross-contamination. Amazing!
I'm sure you've done your research but if you are looking for some gluten-free snacks that your granddaughter might enjoy, I have a few suggestions. The Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bar is a delicious treat for all guests that is sure to put a smile on her face and can be found all over Walt Disney World. Also, if she's in the mood for ice cream at Magic Kingdom Park, the Dole Whip and Dole Whip float from
Aloha Isle are gluten-free. This is one of my favorite treats of all time! At Disney Springs, there's even a dedicated gluten-free bakery that you might want to check out. Everything I've had from
Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC has been fantastic.
There are so many great gluten-free options for your granddaughter at Walt Disney World, I know she is going to have a great time!
