My granddaughter and I will be going to disneyland soon. I would like to know if is better to purchase the Disney Genie + service at $25.00 per day or to purchase the Disney photo pass + one week at $78.

Hey there, hi there, Sharalee! Welcome to planDisney. We are so excited you are here!

I love to hear that you will soon be arriving at Disneyland Resort with your granddaughter so very soon! Disney Genie+ and PhotoPass+ are both great services and add-ons to your visit. To recommend which service would be better for you would depend on your priorities for your visit. If riding attractions are one of the top priorities, I would definitely recommend Disney Genie+. Disney Genie+ will let you make Lightning Lane selections for participating attractions and also includes unlimited digital downloads of PhotoPass photos. That's kind of the best package deal! This price is per person. If you aren't wanting to ride a lot of the bigger participating attractions, you could get away with just purchasing the service for one of you to ride those attractions and then still have the bonus of the PhotoPass photos. I think Disney Genie+ will definitely come in handy this week with the spring break crowds.

Another factor would be how many days you will be in the parks to know which would be better. The great thing is that for the first day, you could try Disney Genie+ and see if the addition of Lightning Lane selections is something that made your day better, and then make a plan for day two. There really is no wrong answer, but for me, I think Disney Genie+ would be my go-to if II had the budget for it for the duration of the trip.

Sharalee, I hope you and your granddaughter have the most magical visit! See you real soon!
