Welcome to planDisney, Eileen! Thanks so much for sending us this adorable story and your question! I'm happy to help you plan a vacation to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth.
As a kindergarten teacher, I love that your granddaughter wants to catch a leprechaun and get his gold! Luckily, you don't need a pot of gold to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. There are often
Special Offers on the
Walt Disney World website that can help reduce the cost of a Disney vacation. I would recommend starting there to see if there are offers that would be available for the dates you desire. When our family went on one of our first Disney vacations, we got a
Disney Premier Visa Card. This is a great way to save some money because cardmembers can receive special offers. At this time, there is a $300 statement credit and a 0% promo APR for 6 months on select Disney vacation packages from the date of purchase. These current offers are subject to terms and can change. Another benefit of having this credit card is that you can earn 2% in Disney Rewards Dollars on card purchases at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, and most Disney locations. You can also earn 1% on all your other card purchases and there's no limit to how many reward dollars you can earn! I take these reward dollars and spend them on food and souvenirs when we are on our Walt Disney World vacation. With a family of 12, you will need more than one
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room, however, this can also be more affordable if you're sharing the cost.
Another tip I have for you is to purchase Disney gift cards along the way to use once you arrive. You can find these at many retail locations or through
shopDisney and have them delivered directly to your email.
I hope this information helps you get started! Please visit us again at
planDisney if you have any additional questions. We're always happy to help!
Happy Planning!
