My granddaugher is a Florida resident and my husband and I wanted to purchase an Annual Pass for her for Christmas. I see that these are on pause, at the moment. Any idea what I can do or when these will become available?

Hey there, hi there, Christopher! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! I'm so glad that you have stopped by with such an oh-so-great question.

Christopher, this question absolutely warmed my heart. Gifting your granddaughter a Walt Disney World Annual Pass is the most thoughtful, generous and magical gift! Since she will be able to return to The Most Magical Place on Earth time and time again, it will seriously be the gift that keeps on giving. I'm thrilled to help you and your husband give your granddaughter the best gift - a year full of magic!

You are correct that sales of new Walt Disney World Annual Passes for out-of-state Guests have been temporarily paused. However, I think you will be happy to hear that there is still an Annual Pass option available for Florida residents, such as your granddaughter! The Disney Pixie Dust Pass is one of the discounted Annual Pass options exclusively for Florida residents, and new Pixie Dust Passes are currently available for purchase. YAY!

The good news just keeps coming, Christopher! Even though you are not a Florida resident, you can still give your granddaughter the gift of a Disney Pixie Dust Pass! Since you are out of state, you won't be able to purchase the Pixie Dust Pass online, so just call a helpful Cast Member at 407-560-CHAT or 407-560-2428 to complete the purchase. Then, before your granddaughter uses her Annual Pass for the first time, she can just stop at Guest Relations outside of the theme parks or in Disney Springs to show proof of residency and activate her Pass. It's magic time!

Christopher, just be aware that the Disney Pixie Dust Pass has blockout dates that include the weekends. So, if you think these blockout dates may not work for your granddaughter, let's talk about your options. The Water Park and Sports Option has no blockout dates, so if you add on this affordable option, on the days that she is blocked out of the theme parks, she can still have a blast at the water parks, playing miniature golf and more!

Another option is to put the cost of an Annual Pass on a Disney Gift Card and give her the Gift Card to use when the sales of the other Annual Passes resume. However, no announcement has been made on when sales of new Annual Passes, besides the Disney Pixie Dust Pass, will be available again. So, if this is the route you take, just have your granddaughter keep a close eye on the Passholder page on the Walt Disney World website and on Disney Parks Blog to see when sales may resume!

I hope this was helpful, Christopher, and I hope you'll stop by any time with any other questions you may have. You've got a friend in planDisney!

    Very merriest and happiest holidays,
