My grandchildren will be visiting in May and I wanted to get them American Express gift cards...are there any issues in the parks in reference to using AmEx gift-cards for places like gift shops or dining areas?

Hi Douglas! Thank you for your question and for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Congratulations on your upcoming vacation with your grandchildren to Walt Disney World!

While I’ve had the opportunity to use an American Express credit card at Disney World, I’ve not had the opportunity to use one of their gift cards. However, might I recommend looking into a Disney Gift Card for your grandchildren. My parents actually purchased a Disney Gift Card for our little girl last year… and you can use it for practically all things Disney from shopping to dining and from Resort stays to Theme Park visits. It’s a win/win!

If you’re looking for an additional dining spot during your stay, I would absolutely recommend Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant located within Disney’s Hollywood Studios where you can grab a delicious burger and fries.

If you have any other questions, please let us know. Have a magical day!
