Will the Grand Floridian Gingerbread house be back this Christmas season 2026?

    Hi Sarah,

Welcome to planDisney! Even though it's still summer-like here in Florida, it's not too early to start thinking about the holiday magic at Walt Disney World.

One of the things that has kept my family coming back to Walt Disney World repeatedly for decades is the ever-changing evolution of the theme parks and resorts, always offering a new twist on tradition.

The life-sized gingerbread house, which graced the lobby of the Grand Floridian for 25 years, is one of those evolving offerings. It has been retired and will not be back this season. Instead, smaller gingerbread displays will be scattered throughout the resort.

You also will find gingerbread displays returning to other resorts, such as the Contemporary, the Beach Club, BoardWalk and the Yacht Club.

While it can be sad when a tradition comes to an end (I still miss the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights), it's always exciting to see what's next.

There's lots of holiday fun on tap for the theme parks, at Disney Springs and at the resorts during the upcoming season.

Some of my favorites include the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays, the Candlelight Processional, the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll, the Tree of Life Awakenings Holiday Edition at Animal Kingdom and the Jingle Cruise at Magic Kingdom. And, of course, don't forget Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights.

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question, Sarah. Please let us know if you want any other suggestions or information about holiday offerings this year.

    Enjoy,

    Wilma
