Had the Grand Floridian announced its dates for the 2023 Gingerbread House, yet?

    Happy Holidays, Carson!

Oh boy, it’s nearly the Most Magical Time of the Year at the Walt Disney World Resort. I can almost smell that fantastic gingerbread display at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and I know you can too if you’re asking about this wonderful tradition. I see your trip is quickly approaching; I also love to visit in early November as the decorations magically transform the theme parks and resorts from fall to holidays seemingly overnight!

Just this week, the Disney Parks Blog shared some behind the scenes updates regarding holiday décor. I was thrilled to see confirmation of the incredible gingerbread displays at Disney’s flagship resort (and my Disney Vacation Club home), Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. There is also a new gingerbread display planned for Disney’s Yacht Club Resort which should be amazing to see. I’m sorry to say there was not a date shared, but please continue to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for ongoing news. Since you are arriving after the Halloween holiday and as the special events for Christmas begin to take place, you may find some pixie dust and see the gingerbread displays being constructed.

Please be sure to inquire with a Cast Member or two as you arrive to get any latest news on the status. While every year is different, I have been at the Walt Disney World Resort the week after Halloween and been treated to seeing the construction of these fine displays, which often take several days. Disney officially calls the holiday season as beginning November 11, but I know we’ll start to see some decorations and merchandise appear as soon as the fall season turns into a pumpkin at midnight on November 1. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party begins on November 9, and the brand-new "Frozen Holiday Surprise" begins November 7, both in Magic Kingdom Park. Wishing you luck for some holiday magic during your stay!

Be sure and stop by Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa on this trip, no matter the status of the holiday displays Carson. I was just there last week, and there is a lovely Disney PhotoPass Service opportunity on the balcony as you exit the monorail into the grand lobby. There were even a few fun magic shots available for this posed location! It smells as luscious as ever, and the construction inside the lobby is complete for this season. The boutiques on the first and second floor of the main building are always a treat, and don’t forget about Enchanted Rose Lounge for a specialty cocktail or snack.

Please let us know if you have any other questions as you finalize your packing and plans for this special vacation. I’ll be wishing on a star that you get to see (and smell) the elaborate gingerbread displays in action on this visit.

Wishing you a magical holiday season,
    Amy
