Whitney from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Since both the Grand Ca and the Pixar hotel guests are using the same Pixar entrance into DCA, do you think it’s faster to just get into DCA through the main gates? We are staying at Pixar and want to take advantage of early access.

Welcome back to planDisney, Whitney. Thanks for bringing us another planning question. We're glad to have you!

Whitney, in my experience, using the hotel entrances into California Adventure tends to be faster. So, while Pixar Place Hotel and Grand Californian are sharing a park entrance right now, I imagine that entrance will still be a bit faster than heading to the Main Entrance. However, whichever path you choose, be sure to give yourself extra time to get through security, especially if you want to get there for Early Entry! I try my best to travel light and have all bag pockets open so I can breeze through security and be on my way to my must-do rides.

I love that you want to utilize Early Entry. This special perk for hotel guests is currently available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday for Disney California Adventure Park. While most guests speed over to Cars Land to get on Radiator Springs during Early Entry, my family and I love jumping on Guardians of the Galaxy and WEB SLINGERS before the park opens to other guests.  Then, I soar to the Soarin' Over California (available during the Food & Wine Festival) on my way to the Incredicoaster on Pixar Pier. It seems like a lot of backtracking, but those early hours are amazing, as the crowds tend to be lower!

Whitney, be sure to download the Disneyland Mobile App before your visit. It's the best way to check wait times and add Lightning Lane Single or Multi Pass to your park day. I also love using it to mobile order food, to beat waiting in line!

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions, Whitney. I would be happy to help you again!

    See you in the parks,
    Melissa
