Grammy and Peanut vacation! My Grand Peanut is 5. I am debating on an umbrella stroller or not. She is about the age where she has a ton of energy and I don’t want to be stuck carrying the stroller around all day. Thoughts??

    Hello Patty!

I always enjoy seeing a fellow Iowan asking questions of the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

We have enjoyed many Disney trips with our grandson.  It will be an experience you will never forget!  I see that your grandchild is 5. This is an in-between age when it comes to strollers.  It is likely that you won't need one all the time, but when you do need one, you will REALLY need one.  I remember a trip a few years back when a very tired grandpa had to carry an even more tired grandson across a large Epcot parking lot.  That was not much fun.

At this age, I would recommend a regular sized stroller that you either bring from home or rent from a reputable rental company such as Kingdom Strollers.  Your Grand Peanut will be comfortable, and it will also allow you to stow your backpack and any souvenEARS you might buy along the way. Having one with you will enable you to take it on Disney transportation and across those vast parking lots after a long day.

I hope this helps with your planning. If you have more questions, come on back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel- we love to help!

    See ya real soon,
