Hi Charlaine! You have four sleeps until you make your way to Walt Disney World Resort - are you so excited?? (I wish my countdown was that short!) After a busy day of traveling, with an infant no less, I understand and appreciate the desire to move at a leisurely pace and dine in my own time AND without a wait. I have great news, your family has a ton of choices, whether you'd like to dine at these locations or box everything up to bring back to your room.
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa has a wonderful Quick-Service dining option called
Gasparilla Island Grill. Here you'll find a nice menu of sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, and even a juicy burger. They also have a few cold pasta salads, fruit trays, hummus, and more. (Click 'View Menu' to the right of the gallery slideshow, and then select 'Dinner' from the 'Meal Period' dropdown.)
Your hotel is conveniently located off of the Monorail, so you can also get to Disney's Contemporary Resort as well as Disney's Polynesian Village Resort pretty quickly and with great ease. The Quick-Service option at the Contemporary is the
Contempo Cafe that serves heartier options like pasta, salmon, and chicken.
Capt. Cooks is the Quick-Service option the Polynesian, where dishes have an island flare, like coconut meatballs, pork fried rice, and a chicken and pineapple skewers. (If you go to the Poly make sure to stop by
Pineapple Lanai for a DOLE WHIP!)
I hope your travel day goes smoothly, Charlaine, and we'll see you real soon!
