I've gotten several Disney GCs to use while in WDW in Dec., but I also have a Disney Visa. Will there be a way to use the GCs & still get 10% off I'd get with the Visa? Maybe by charging things to the room, showing my ID and Visa then pay our bill w/GC

    Hi, Wendy!

Certain locations will offer a 10% discount with your Disney Visa.  I always ask, even though it seems to be the "main" stores that honor the discount:  MouseGear in Epcot, Emporium in Magic Kingdom, and World of Disney in Downtown Disney to name a few.  There is usually a minimum purchase to receive the discount (this varies it seems every time I ask, usually $50 or $75 minimum purchase) then you will have to actually USE the card to get the discount, not just show the card.

To get around this, save your Gift Cards for dining, to pay for your resort room, or any store purchases under that minimum.  Also, wait to make one big purchase instead of lots of little ones so you have enough to even get the discount.

I hope you have a great time shopping in Walt Disney World and get to use your Disney Visa discount.  Good luck!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
