We have gotten military tickets many times traveling with my father. He was US Public Health Service. In the past, his ID has always worked. It had his social on the front of the card. Shades of Green now says he has to have a retired ID? Has discharge pps

    Hi Kelcie!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Did you know that there are five military spouses serving on the Disney Parks Moms Panel this year? My husband is AD Air Force, but we have a mix of everything; one Mom even represents the US Public Health Service!

Specially priced Disney Theme Park Tickets, Memory Maker and room rates at Disney Resort Hotels are available to those who are currently active duty, reservists, or retirees of the U.S. Military, National Guard, the Coast Guard, the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service and the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Service Members who fall into these categories may purchase these discounted tickets at Shades of Green, a Walt Disney World Resort Guest Relations window, or from a base/post ticket office.

A valid Military I.D. is required to show proof of current service or of a retired status in order to purchase these tickets and/or to receive a Military room rate. Shades of Green can provide the most up-to-date information on specifics to any one person or family, but the basic litmus test is 'can you get on a U.S. Military Base/Post with your I.D.' Sadly, these tickets are not available to Military Veterans who served but did not fully retire after 20 (or more) years of service.

But not to fret as there are still other great ways to save on a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. There is always some kind of Special Offer with more announced all the time. Warehouse shopping clubs often have special packages. And check with co-branded credit cards or specialty associations like triple a as they too offer deals.

    I hope this helped, Kelcie!
